AUDIO: Use Rive to elevate your animations
The opportunity to do more for less, especially if it saves time and produces a better product, is like music to a marketer’s ears.
One impactful option that many marketers or their clients may not know about: Rive. This interactive animation program offers seemingly endless possibilities to deploy motion graphics across a spectrum of channels, technologies and platforms — all while using smaller file sizes and no need for a web developer.
The results are captivating, design-forward interactive elements that open new possibilities for memorable digital experiences.
A new way to create
Animating for interactive experiences can be tedious. A designer creates the visuals, and a developer writes code to power the motion or interactivity. It can be a time-consuming and potentially complicated process for both parties. Trying to maintain consistent operation between platforms adds another layer of difficulty.
With Rive, designers can create graphics “that can react, animate and change itself at any moment.” Instead of exporting files in static formats like .png, .jpg, .pdf or .psd, Rive allows designers to create graphics with motion, interactivity and audio built in. These graphics can react based on user input, external data or another trigger set by the designer.
File size is another hurdle that Rive has managed to conquer. Rive files are significantly smaller than videos, GIFs or image sequence files. They’re quick, efficient and allow designers to include photos, videos and other visual elements on a page or platform without slowing down processing speed.
Thanks to the file size and simple development process, Rive files can be utilized for a variety of uses, in a variety of places — anything from small app interactions to large-scale interactive stories across websites, apps, emails, digital ads, presentations and so much more. You may have already seen Rive’s potential without even knowing it.
Anthologic’s designers used Rive to create several animated and interactive graphics on our website.
We’re well-versed in using animation for our clients, and we used Rive to create an interactive touchscreen so tradeshow attendees could get a full view of one of our client’s key products.
Interactive graphics offer exciting ways for the audience to — quite literally — interact with a brand or its products. By incorporating motion and responsive graphic elements, companies can let some personality shine through while engaging with their audience in an entertaining, thoughtful way. Rive gives designers and marketers the power to make it all happen easily and efficiently.
