Marketing automation: The numbers don’t lie

August 19, 2025 // Blog

Data means a lot in our world — it’s how we track engagement with content, how people interact on websites, how we prove what’s working and so much more. In short, it’s how we know marketing automation is well worth the investment. It’s also how we know our marketing automation efforts with a client led to a 29% year-over-year increase in revenue.

Case study: Creating connections that convert

Our client, Fictiv, simplifies custom part sourcing and accelerates innovation for its customers through its easy-to-use digital platform and global network of highly vetted manufacturing partners.

But they were having trouble getting the word out. As an emerging disruptor, they were competing against established brands with deep marketing pockets.

Instead of traditional tactics like paid search or a large media campaign, we helped Fictiv launch an innovative marketing automation program that would generate new qualified leads, elevate engagement and drive sales for long-term growth.

Working within Fictiv’s existing marketing automation system, we reconfigured workflows and automations, data processes and sales connections to form the basis of the new program. The team then designed the appropriate mix of right-time, right-content messaging strategies for product engineers and supply chain managers.

Versioned to target audiences ranging from new anonymous leads to even loyal, repeat purchasers, the new connected experience included:

  • Immediate triggered emails and sales team integrations
  • Reimagined welcome nurture streams with dynamic content by audience type and industry
  • Abandoned cart emails
  • Behavior-triggered emails and proactive automations
  • New mid-funnel, power-user nurture streams
  • Targeted email campaigns to support specific business objectives
  • And more

Our team also assisted with connected blog content for these new email interactions, which included the publishing of over 17 new articles and case studies.

After eight months, 700 new, individual email assets and more than 1 million emails deployed, here’s what the numbers told us:

Fictiv saw an 81% increase in new users to the website from email and a 42% increase in all web conversions. Our connected strategies helped speed up early adoption and new account creation by 40% — ultimately contributing to a 29% increase in company-wide revenue growth year over year.

The right, experienced partner matters

Outcomes like these don’t happen by accident; they require skill, expertise and strategy. From new HubSpot platform launches to cleaning up, optimizing and elevating existing ones, it helps to work with a partner with a proven track record — one that blends business insights, marketing smarts and deep technical expertise.

We’ve partnered with brands of all sizes across a variety of industries to implement marketing automation programs that not only work but also drive results. This Anthologic client gave us a 5-star review and we couldn’t be more proud of our partnership with this Iowa manufacturer:

“I would recommend Anthologic to anyone, except my competition! They understand how to implement HubSpot software and they know why to implement HubSpot. These two factors created a meaningful supercharge to our digital marketing efforts. They are willing to tailor the depth of their involvement to the client’s needs and wishes. Overall, a top-notch organization.”

The bottom line

Our work with Fictiv isn’t an outlier — it’s a blueprint for what’s possible when you combine marketing automation with strategic vision and technical expertise. Ready to gain more from your tool and implement a smarter kind of marketing and selling? Reach out today to see how we can help.
